چکیده

Recent studies concluded that the use of ammonia in SI engines is possible thanks to an ignition booster or promoter. In this paper, improvement premixed ammonia/air combustion for internal studied as a function performance and exhaust pollutants Spark-Assisted Compression Ignition single-cylinder engine, which supports higher compression ratio (CR). For first time, pure NH 3 was performed over large range engine operating conditions. The study concludes neat can be used range, here driven by intake pressure, using classical device with CR 14–17 at 1000 rpm. comparison previous data obtained current clearly shows potential mode, even very low loads various speeds (650, 1000, 2000 rpm), spite initial aerodynamic not optimized enhance flame-turbulence interaction. Kinetic simulations provide some explanations about emission behaviour, especially unburnt , H 2 NO x N O.

Investigating the effects of fuel injection strategies in a dual-fuel diesel-H2 compression ignition engine

In this computational research, the separate and simultaneous impacts of diesel direct injection timing, fuel spraying cone angle, and hydrogen gas addition on combustion characteristics, output emissions, and performance in a single-cylinder direct injection diesel engine was studied. In order to conduct the simulations, valid and reliable models for combustion, break-up, and for turbulence wa...

Large eddy simulation of turbulent combustion in a spark assisted homogenous charge compression ignition engine

A large eddy simulation (LES) model was developed to simulate the combustion process in a spark-assisted homogeneous charge compression ignition (SACI) engine. First, an ignition and flame propagation model based on a reaction progress variable is presented. The reaction progress variable is defined based on the normalized cumulative heat release. Transport equation for the progress variable is...

Performance of Pre-heated Cottonseed Oil and Diesel Fuel Blends in a Compression Ignition Engine

Viscosity of vegetable oil is considered a constraint for its use as an alternate fuel for Internal Combustion(IC) engines. In this experimental investigation, the viscosity of cottonseed oil (CSO), which is considered a potential alternate fuel, is reduced by blending it in different proportions with diesel, and its viscosity at various temperatures was analyzed and used as a fuel in a compres...
